Prayer Updates: And God Will Wipe Away Every Tear

October 15, 2004

Not to long ago, Beslan, Russia was attacked by terrorists. At a school in Beslan, there was a 53-hour stand off that took the lives of 328 hostages; half of whom were children.

Amongst this group, there were four families from the Baptist church in Besland that were affected, including the pastor and his brother (a missionary) both of whom lost children in this tragedy. A Sunday School teacher from a Russian Baptist church in Beslan was among the hostages who lost their lives. She showed courage and compassion during the siege, and took care of 35 children who were held hostage with her. Despite her captivity, she did what she could to be strong for the children with her; singing Christian songs and praying with them. Her name was Dzerassa.

Our team would like to ask that you pray fervently for a healing and possible understanding to the families of those who were lost in this tragedy. That God would be sought after, and a new hope would be restored within the families of those who were lost. And that these families, including the families of those who took part in this terrorist attack, would begin to fill their hearts and homes with the foundation of Christ. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." Revelation 21: 4 & 5

We thank you for your continued prayers and support for our team serving in Volgograd, Russia. Please pray for a great awakening amongst the people of Volgograd, and that God would continued to strength, nourish, and give the wisdom needed to the team that God has given this journey to.

Thank you, and blessings to all~
